Most of the trust problems between creators and agencies come from one thing: nobody asked the right questions before signing. This list comes from the things that come up most on Reddit and in the calls we take from creators who tried a different agency first.
If you're comparing options, the OnlyFans chatting agency page covers what Intima does and how we work. If you're trying to screen any agency, read through first.
Do you need a chatting agency, a marketing agency or a single chatter?
Before you evaluate any agency, clarify what you actually need. A chatting agency runs your DMs. A marketing agency handles traffic and growth. Full management does both. Paying for all three when you only needed one is expensive and unnecessary. See chatting agency, management agency or freelance chatter if you're still figuring this out.
10 questions to ask on the first call
- How is commission calculated? Net or gross? Which revenue lines are included? A 20% commission on gross is not the same as 20% on net.
- Who actually chats? In-house team, outsourced freelancers, or something else? Where are they based?
- How do you learn my voice? Do you build a tone guide? Do I approve it before chatters go live?
- What will chatters never say? What hard limits do you follow and how are they enforced?
- What do I get in reporting? How often, what numbers, can I check them against my own OnlyFans stats?
- How does account access work? What do you need, and can I revoke it without losing anything?
- What are the exit terms? How many days notice, what happens during the transition?
- Is there a trial period? How long, is it paid, what do I measure to decide?
- Is there a setup fee? Any upfront costs before results?
- Can I talk to a current client? Or see verified results with permission?
Write the answers down. An agency that dodges any of these questions in writing is telling you something.
Red flags
- Upfront setup fees: A legitimate agency earns from your performance, not from charging you to start
- Asking for your email or 2FA codes: You should never hand over the email account linked to OnlyFans
- Guaranteed earnings: No agency can guarantee what fans will spend
- Long lock-in contracts with no exit clause: Good agencies offer trial periods and clear exit terms
- AI doing the chatting: Ask directly. If the answer is vague, assume it's not human
- No real information about who runs it: Anonymous agencies with no verifiable founder or location are a risk
What a good trial looks like
A proper trial is paid, short (7 days is common) and measured. Before the trial starts, agree on what you'll track: response time, PPV unlock rate, revenue compared to your baseline. At the end of the trial, you compare those numbers, not your gut feeling about whether the chatters "seemed" to do well.
Intima's trial is 7 days paid. You can exit within 14 days with one message. No penalty, no holdback on earnings.
